Sun-Kissed Skin By God
Queer Love is spiritual and holy. This truth reigns as the North Star shining boldly in darkness overcast by
the societal tug-of-war with my queer and spiritual identity. How does one experience such Love, joy and
acceptance in this space, yet when they’re exposed to homophobia, burn like butterfly skin to such rays of
hatred. Queerness and Christianity oftentimes are positioned as conflicting identities whose axis of rotation are as Mercury is to Saturn. Sun-Kissed Skin by God counters this belief by forging a symbiotic connection between spirituality and sexuality through significant symbols from the Christian, Taíno, and LGBTQ2S+ communities.

Ojos Cerrados
What happens when we close our eyes? Ojos Cerrados. Closed Eyes. A landscape of red and orange hues dance effortlessly behind our transparent lids. Promised and persistent, the Sun protects every fiber of our being with her outstretched rays. Comfort invades all senses, forcing human concerns to dissolve. Inner peace is achievable in this moment...no longer a faded dream. What can this experience look like when translated into the physical art world? This is a first attempt.
