With the advancement and global proliferation of technology, the effects on women’s bodies have been profound. The over-sexualization of the female form is alarming, and this piece literally embodies the objectification of countless girls and women. What if women were transformed into objects, like fruits, existing solely for the pleasure of consumers? The male figure, depicted in a garish neon green, symbolizes the facelessness of many men who perpetrate harm—anyone from a father, neighbor, brother or manager. Man Gogh’s strings that tie her up intentionally extend past the boundaries off the screen.
