Materials
Paint, balsa wood, hot glue and clear string
This sculptural artwork challenges the very notion of a chair and our own definitions of what a chair can be. The word “chair” is spelled out in bold colors, using letters crafted from various chairs found around campus, each positioned at different angles. To display this word, I chose to hang it within the rough outline of a chair. Overall, this piece comments on the literal meaning of the word while exploring the diverse perspectives on chairs we encounter in our surroundings.
